1973-79 Ford Dentside to Super Duty Frame Swap Kit

Industry first, measure free frame swap kit. The patent pending design of this kit means you don't  need to measure the location of any cab mounts or the frame splice. Designed from Ford direct CAD models and drawings so you know it's the most accurate available.

Current kits available are for 73-79 Ford single cab, super cab, and crew cab truck bodies on to 05-07 Super duty frames. Please see below for more information on bodies, beds, and frame configurations.

This kit includes everything needed to shorten the frame of a 05-07 Super duty and bolt on a 73-79 Ford truck body.

Shortening the frame consists of bolting on a cut template to the frame using existing holes and features. The template has locating slots to correctly position the frame cuts needed. After cutting, the frame is bolted together using the inner frame jig. The two halves are then welded back together, an outside gusset is welded onto the frame to finish it off.

Installing the body mounts are just as easy, all mounts are located on the frame using existing holes and features, once the mounts are welded on, the locating tabs are removed to provide a clean professional look.

Detailed instructions are included to guide you through the process.

Benefits of swapping to a newer frame; not only do you get all the benefits of the 05+ SD axles, you also get a heavier frame that is ideal for towing, a wide variety of aftermarket support for suspension components and lift kits. Additionally modern engine and transmission swaps are easier, the wider frame clears all modern transfer cases. Modern power stroke engines easily bolt in and Cummins swap motor mounts are readily available. 5.0 coyote and 7.3 Godzilla swaps are also easily accomplished.

Donor truck frame info

When choosing your donor Super Duty frame, it is important to note that the bed length needs to match your end truck configuration. If your finished truck is going to be a long bed then the Super Duty chassis needs to be a long bed. If the finished truck is going to be a short bed the donor frame needs to be a short bed.

Please note, we don't currently have offerings for cab and chassis truck frames, if you want to email us directly we can assist you with your build.

Single cab, super cab, or crew cab? The donor frame can have a bigger cab configuration than the finished truck but not a smaller configuration. This means you can use a super cab or crew cab Super Duty frame to make a finished single cab truck but you can't use a single cab Super Suty frame to make a finished crew cab truck.

We recommend purchasing a non wrecked complete donor truck, there are lots of trucks available on marketplace or auctions with bad engines (gas or diesel) these make ideal candidates for a donor frame. They can usually be purchased for the same price as a rolling chassis and have lots of components to resell to fund your project.

Wrecked trucks should be avoided as looks can be deceiving and you'll end up with a bent frame. There are some exceptions such as a slow roll over or tree damage.
